Property description

This 28ha farm is ideally situated next to the upgraded R72 on the Sunshine east coast of Port Alfred. It has stunning views of the Fish River mouth, lighthouse, powerful Indian Ocean, as well as panoramic views of the meandering Kap river to the North East.

With two separate homesteads this farm can easily accommodate a farm manager and family, or be developed into a game lodge . The homesteads are in need of some TLC.

The main homestead comprises of a double garage, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, open plan kitchen, lounge and dining room. There is a very large secure shed for farm machinery, equipment and storage.

The second homestead comprises of double garage, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining room.

Eskom power supply is available. With nine boreholes, water is available, however some of the boreholes would need to be retested for water supply.

The main homestead has two 10 000 litre water tanks, which is gravity fed to the homestead. The water tanks are fed directly via a submersible pump from an active borehole. The water is drinkable. There are three small dams on the farm. The constant supply of fresh borehole water is a huge attraction for this farm in the drought stricken eastern cape.

Presently there is active pig farming, however it has huge potential to be developed into a private tourist lodge and is ideally suited for game farming. It would also be suitable for livestock such as poultry and ostrich farming.

There is a variety of mixed vegetation and grasses such as wild protea, acacia and fir trees. The soil type varies in places, however it is mainly acidic. Nyala, Blesbok and bushbuck have roamed the farm in the past. There is a game fence around the farm perimeter.
